OnePlus Note 4 Review: Worth the Wait?? - Techspecinsight

OnePlus Nord 4 Review: Worth the Wait.Hey guys, today we're unboxing the highly expect OnePlus Nord 4. From the let-go, the design has left a lasting impression. Inside the box, you'll find the SIM ejector, documentation, OnePlus stickers, and a case that , honestly, isn't the best quality. It gives off a similar vibe to the OnePlus 8 cases. It refreshing to see a metallic phone after a while, Remembering of the Google Pixel 2 design with its glossy top and matte bottom.

The Oneplus Nord 4 includes a 100W charger, famous for its large size, and the signature red Type-C cable OnePlus is known for. Having tested the phone, I can already tell that in some areas, it looks even better than the OnePlus 12R.

Design and Build Quality

Starting with the design, I'm thrilled to see a phone in this price segment with a metal design with 0.8mm ultra thin body and 0.14 ultra thin bezel. It's been a while since I have used a metal phone, in-hand feel is exceptionally premium due to the unibody construction, meaning the entire metal body is crafted from a single piece and aircraft-grade aluminum ensures durability for years, resulting in no interruptions between the frame and back panel. This adds to the smoothness and overall premium feel, although it does make the phone quite slippery.

The laser-imprinted lines on the lower side add to the aesthetics, and the antenna lines around the display ensure there are no signal issues, a common problem with metal-bodied phones, especially in the 5G area.

Features and Specifications

OnePlus has not compromised on features. The phone includes an alert slider with an orange accent and an IR blaster on the top, allowing it to function as a remote. However, the fingerprint scanner is placed a bit low, which could have been better positioned.

The speakers are loud and clear, and the display is an OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 2100 nits peak brightness. While the display is good for content consumption with accurate colors, the brightness could be better for this price segment.

Battery and Performance

The Oneplus Nord 4 comes with a 5500mAh battery and supports 100W charging, which is an excellent combination. The software experience is also admirable, with OxygenOS 14.1 based on Android 14, providing a smooth and responsive interface. OnePlus has promised an month 4 years Android Update & 6 years Security update policy

The phone features the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 processor, making it comparable to the OnePlus 12R. It also includes UFS 3.1 storage and 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Benchmark scores are 1,503,829 vs 854,362 respectable, with slight differences compared to the 12R, but still impressive for its price.

Gaming and Camera

In gaming, the Oneplus Nord 4 handles games like Genshin Impact well, maintaining a stable frame rate with slight heating. However, some games like Call of Duty Mobile are not yet fully optimized for this processor.

The camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The main camera captures detailed shots, but there is some over-sharpening. Portrait mode, however, delivers accurate skin tones and a good blur effect. The ultra-wide lens provides decent color processing but lacks detail. Low-light performance is good in managing highlights, though noise can be present in darker areas.

Interestingly, the Nord 4's camera performs slightly better than the OnePlus 12R in challenging lighting conditions and video stabilization.
